How to add fonts to indesign
I'm not gonna lie, it was an utter revelation when I realised Wingdings actually had a use. This mark will now act as a bullet point for this list. Choose Wingdings from the Font Family drop down, click the tick mark you want. Fonts in this folder are available only to InDesign. Place the missing fonts in the Fonts folder, which is located in the InDesign application folder. Install the missing fonts on your system. For more information, see Add fonts from the Adobe Fonts service. In the Bullets and Numbering tab and click Add in the Bullet Character box. Activate missing fonts from Adobe Fonts service. Create a new paragraph style for the list you want ticks next to. I went one step further and made the tick mark into a bullet point. Highlight the character and change its font to Wingdings and there you go. The character will probably appear as a box because the font you're using doesn't recognise it. Return to InDesign (or whatever program you're using) and paste the character in place. In other programs, you can just click once and start typing, but in InDesign you have to draw a frame (some people call it a text box) for your text to live inside. This will put the character on your clipboard. After the data passes though the font encoder, it is referred to as encoded data.

A font encoder is formula inside of an add-in, plug-in, or source code that performs a calculation to convert data into a format that the barcode font can understand. Click the one you want to use (the ticks are at the end) and press Select then Copy. InDesign A barcode font is a file that displays a barcode in text format.

So not sure how to get the fonts picked up. Now you can see all the handy little icons that make up Wingdings. I copy and paste Fonts into the InDesign CS4 Fonts folder, and it still doesn't appear in InDesign I cant get the fonts to work in InDesign. Got to Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools and choose Character Map. This is only for Windows by the way, I have no idea what to do on a Mac. This pointed out that Wingdings has a tick mark as one of its characters. I eventually found the answer in the most unlikely of places, a Microsoft Excel help document. I came across numerous posts from people trying to do the same thing and the answers they received varied from "It can't be done" to "It can be done but it's a massive hassle." So of course I did some Googling to try and find out how to do it.

I have been designing book covers and one of them needed a tick mark. Embedding fonts during the InDesign export The embedding of fonts itself is easily done and almost all modern layout programs do it for you when you export your layout to a PDF document. I'll start by saying this has nothing to do with Moodle.
